Welding Equipment: 

*     Welding Generator. It is work horse of welding lab.  

*     TIG Welding Machine. Useful for TIG welding, DC  

*     Welding transformer supplying A.C.  

*     MIG Welding machine - Advani Oerlikon Make    

*     Pulse TIG welding machine having for controlling square wave form.  

*     Sub-merged arc welding machine - In addition to normal flux welding, the machine has been used for flux core open arc welding.  

*     Transvarestrain testing system - one of its kind in India, has been used for measurement of hot cracking susceptibility of various alloys.  Speed of loading and strain can be adjusted to suit the experimental condition.  Stainless and carbon steels, Nickel alloys and Aluminum alloys suitable for study can be used for consumable development. 

*     Ferrimeter (Electrometer U.K.) has two ranges 0-15 and 0-30 F.N. used for measuring delta ferrite in stainless steel weld. Gas based plasma cutting system, can cut up to 30mm thick plates.  

*     Synergic Pulse MIG/MAG welding machine, (ESAB Sweden) has automatic control of parameters through microprocessor, once current is set.  Data is available for welding parameters.  Pulsing control is very precise and entire cycle can be programmed.

*     Spot cum projection welding machine works on pneumatic actuation of electrode suitable for research work up to 2mm thick sheets with preset welding parameter.  

*     Microplasma welding machine suitable for electronic and thin section.

*     Narrow gap welding bench -suitable for welding thick plates up to 100mm.  Through electronic control it is possible to carry out automatically multiple passes. Torches of various design have been made for Narrow gap welding work.  

*     AWS welding gauge - for measurement of V angle, height of deposit and various measurements for fillet welding. In addition to above equipment, the facility of electrode/flux drying oven, flat and angle grinder and consumables are also available.
