Image Analyzer :

The Biovis Materials Plus is an image analysis software designed for material science and metallography applications. It enables to capture images of samples through a microscope or scan photographs and then analyze them to obtain specific measurements that include grain size, phase/area fraction or caliper measurements such as lengths, areas and distances. Advanced measurement modules include counting and classifying objects, particle sizing, particle spacing, inclusion analysis, nodularity measurements, graphite flake measurements, porosity, decarburisation depth, coating thickness, carbide banding and microhardness measurements.

Multiple images can be opened and displayed on the screen for analysis or comparison. The software supports most popular image formats such as TIF, PCX, BMP, JPEG etc. Therefore one can import images acquired through other modalities or export them to other software for analysis or publishing.

The acquired images can be processed to increase brightness or contrast, to remove artifacts, to correct background intensities, to remove noise (intensity fluctuations) etc. Images can be cropped to scan only regions of interest. Image sections can be cut or pasted to create a larger composite image.

Software runs in the Microsoft Windows environment, and uses many of the same menus and tools as many familiar Windows applications. It is easy to learn and use. Familiarity with the windows environment will be very helpful when starting to use this software.
