The unit (Model 273) and lock in amplifier (Model 5210) (Princeton Applied Research Inc, USA) is useful for quantitative measurement of corrosion parameters. Tafel slopes, potentio-dynamic studies, linear polarization, cyclic polarization, reactivation and potentiostat/galvanostat type polarization measurements can be made qualitatively as well as quantitatively. With this unit corrosion behavior of material under given environmental condition can be studied.

With the help of lock in amplifier, studies related to the quality of film formation and coating on different surfaces due to environmental reaction or otherwise can be made.
