With the growing urge among the people to get information about the happenings in their vicinity as well as across the globe, more and more media and publishing houses have opened up in Gujarat. To cater to these needs Maharaja Sayajirao University launched a two-year programme of Master of Communication Studies in 1997, replacing the Bachelors Program established in 1992.
The Faculty strives to provide intensive theoretical instructions and practical training in Journalism and allied areas. With a thorough grounding in theory, research and intensive practical training in different media, the students have wide range of avenues open to them. The Faculty strives that its students should excel in every respect and stand up against ignorance, injustice, operation and fear, and also to be responsible and competent media practitioners.
Today our past students are working in English dailies, vernacular newspapers, national news channels, radio stations, PR and advertising organizations, Corporate Communications and in media houses and institutions in India and abroad including Time of India, Indian Express, Economic Times, Business Standard, Times Now, Zee TV, BBC and UNICEF, etc. |
