Department of Plastic Surgery, SSG Hospital provides composite Plastic Surgery care to the whole of Gujarat and the adjoining states.We have always aimed at providing quality care and have strived for it.This has resulted in state of art operation theatre with four OT tables.Recently added to our armamanterium is the image intensifier television for optimal management of hand trauma, and ours is the first department in the region to have it.Apart from the surgical management, we aim to provide an excellent infrastructure to cater to patients of all strata and make them feel at ease while at the hospital.
The department is primarily entrusted with providing treatment for various congenital (cleft lip, cleft palate, microtia, syndactly,urogenital anomalies), Hand injuries, Maxillofacial injuries, Soft tissue coverage.We have over 95 % success rate for free flap surgeries which is at par with any other plastic surgical unit in the world.
But in keeping with changing current trends, we are extending our focus on cosmetic surgery. Various procedures like LASER, hair restoration, rhinoplasties, abdominoplasties and aesthetic breast surgeries are performed at our department.
Apart from clinical and research work,we actively work towards promotive health education and social awareness regarding burns,congenital anomalies and trauma management.
