 Women's Studies Research Center (WSRC)
 
Opening windows to gender equality and through teaching, research, outreach activities and documentation.


Objectives
 
  • Undertakes and coordinates basic and applied research on women and development. Organizes teaching and training programmes to incorporate gender perspective in mainstream disciplines through courses, seminars, workshops and curriculum development of The M.S.University, other universities and research centers, non-government organizations and other institutes.
 
  • Documents all work undertaken in the form of research reports, workshops and seminar reports, training manuals, monographs, booklets, posters etc. The WSRC also publishes a biannual newsletter called the “WSRC Communiqué”
 
  • Develops and promotes, in collaboration with other institutes, training and action programs for women and men of all segments of the society to facilitate gender sensitization.
 
  • Undertakes various collaborative activities that are consistent with the objectives of the Center and contributes towards  attitudinal change related to women’s issues.
 
  • Networks and establishes contacts with other Women’s Studies Centers in India and abroad.

Excellence Award

WSRC has been conferred the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) Award for Excellence in the category of ‘Outstanding Achievement in the field of Woman/ Girl Child Welfare and Empowerment’ 2009.
