Journalism & Communication
Communication Research (CR) is one of the most important dimensions of the MJMC curriculum. The new credits system programme has four papers on CR which pan out over two years (four semesters) . A Dissertation ( of total 9 credits) on any topic in the area of Media Studies encompassing a strong Communication component, along with a Term Paper and other assignments are key academic submissions which are compulsory for students.
Along with Dissertation Guidance, the teachers remain engaged in their own areas of research work and publications.
In October 2013 and Febrauary 2015, Regional and National Seminars on the themes of "Gender and Media" and "National Television News" were respectively held under the aegis of UGC Merged Scheme Grant provisions. These contributed substanively to research and academic enrichment of teachers , participants, and students.
