The Centre for Canadian Studies was established as an inter-disciplinary centre by the UGC in 1991. Over the years the Centre’s academic activites grew with the financial support of Government of India and Canada through their various programmes, Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute and Canadian High Commission. The Centre’s scope has expanded to various other disciplines like, Commerce, Journalism & Communication, Law, Management, Women’s Studies etc. As per the guidelines of UGC and mandate of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, the scope of the functioning of the Centre is now extended to Science and Technology.
