University Health Center

The University Health Centre is a Primary Health Centre, which provides basic medical and para-medical services to the staff and students of the University.

The University Health Centre in its staff has 2 Medical Officers, 2 Honorary Consultants, 5 Para Medical Staff, 1 Clerk and 3 Servants.

The services covered are consultative, investigative, preventive and curative type, including for Malaria, Gastro Enteritis, Vaccination, Drug abuse and S.T.D. etc.

During 2005-06, the Immunization services covered 553 cases on regular basis and 61 cases were covered under Pulse Polio National Programme.

The pre-placement Medical Check-up was offered to 28 Teaching and 2 non-teaching staff members.

The specialists’ consulting services covered Gynaecology 331, Dermatology 1120 cases during the year.

In Laboratory services 9716 were routine Homograma-urine examinations and 2737 were Bio-chemical tests during the year.

During the year 2005-06, the expenditure for Medicine was Rs. 7,41,195.75, Laboratory chemicals Rs. 21,343.00 and Reimbursement of Medical Expenses including special allowances for patients having T.B., Cancer etc. Rs. 8,72,458.81.

The associated services offered are domiciliary facilities, observation beds, S.W.D. and Physiotherapy services etc.
