The College started its working from June, 1949. This is a Government
Institution affiliated to the M.S.University of Baroda. The College started its

The College is housed in a spacious modern Three Storeyed Building 300 ft in
length and breadth. The Department of Anatomy, Physiology are placed on the
Second Floor. The Ground Floor consists of the Department of Preventive and
Social Medicine, Administrative Block, Medicine Department, Clinical Chemistry
and Bio-Chemistry Department etc. In addition to the spacious laboratories for
each department, well equipped museum for the Anatomy, Pathology and Preventive
and Social Medicine Departments, are also housed in the college building. Also
exists in the college building a separate Animal House, Cold Storage for dead
bodies, Post-Mortum Rooms and Ayurvedic Outpatient Department and Research
Centre are in the associated block near the main college building. Attached
Shree Sayaji General Hospital, where clinical instructions are imparted, has six
Medical, six Surgical, four Obst. and Gynaecology, two Paediatrics, one Dental,
two E.N.T., three Orthopaedic, one Anaesthesia Unit and one Psychiatry Unit, one
Skin V.D., one Plastic Surgery, two C.T. Surgery, and two Opthamology, one
Neurology and one Urology Clinic are also started at this College. The students
are posted under these units for their clinical training.
The internees students are also housed near the campus. |
