Agency visit programme form an integral part of the orientation programme. These visits are organised with following objectives.
- To help the volunteers to know various services available in different fields.
- To develop sensitivity of the volunteers towards social realities.
- To help the volunteers identify needs of the inmates and to plan their work with them.
After each classroom session of orientation the volunteers were taken to visit various agencies. A series of visits were organised to the following agencies and areas.
- Govt. School for Blind Children.
- School for Physically Handicapped Children
- State Home for Women
- Society for Village Development in Petrochemicals Area
- Observation Home for Boys
- Observation Home for Girls
- Shankarnagar Slum
- Juvenile Home
- Jalaram Home for Aged Nizampura
- Vone Society
- Pratham
- Jivan Akshay
Each visit was led by senior volunteers and post graduate students of MSW/MHRM. New volunteers could be sensitised to undertake service work in the areas of their choice.
After having thoroughly oriented to NSS, the volunteers formed different projects/groups as follows:
- HIV/AIDS lifestyle education project
- Environment Education Project
- Literacy Project
- Institutional Service Project
- Anti-addiction Education Project
- Audio-Visual Aids Project
Activities of NSS are organised under 1) Regular Activities and 2) Special Camping Programmes.
