M.Sc Program

The department offers M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and the Procedure for the Admission is as follows:

                                    Application are invited for admission to the following courses:

(A)       (i)         Master's Programmes of 2 Year's duration - Number of Seats

                        (1)        M.Sc. (Applied Chemistry)                   (30)

                        (2)        M.Sc. (Applied Mathematics)               (50)

                  (3)        M.Sc. (Applied Physics)                       (30)

(ii)        Requirements for eligibility :

            Candidates who have passed B.Sc. Examination of this University or an examination recognized 

            as equivalent there of any other University are eligible provided he/she has secured atleast 45%

            marks in the principal subjects as well as in aggregate in the respective branches. ie.

a.       For M.Sc. (Applied Chemistry) : B.Sc. in Chemistry as principal subject and subsidiary subjects Physics and Mathematics/Statistics/Biology or B.Sc. with industrial Chemistry.

b.      For M.Sc. (Applied Mathematics): B.Sc. with Mathematics as a principal subject and any subsidiary subjects.

c.       For M.Sc. (Applied Physics) : B.Sc. in Physics/ Electronics as principal subject and Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects or with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiary subjects.

    1. In case of a candidates who has passed B.Sc. examination with the three subjects-Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics with equal weightage, he/she must have secured atleast 50% marks in the subject in which he/she seeks admission and atleast 50% marks in the aggregate.
    2. Admissions will be through Entrance Test for M.Sc. (Applied Chemistry) & M.Sc. (Applied Physics) based on the B.Sc.
