WE ARE FIRST IN THE COUNTRY AT THE MAHARAJA SAYAJIRAO UNIVERSITY

• Faculty of social  work is the only institute in India having Faculty status science 1950. It is the First institution in the state to impart Professional Social Work Educational.
• A preschool lab Chetan Balwadi established in 1949, which later developed into a full-fledged department of child development is the first development is the first of its kind in the country.
• Human development and Family Studies was the first department in Home Science to be recognized by UGC as the center of Advance study. Master’s and Doctoral programme in Home Science with Specializations in Child development, Foods and Nutrition, Clothing and Textile, Education-extension and Home Management were the first in the country
  
  Recognition by the World Health Organization (who) as collaborating Centre for Research and Training in promoting Nutrition in Health and Development (WHO CC NO. 122)
  
  Institution of excellence by WHO collaborating centre and Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, Govt. of India for training in country and out of country fellows in two areas:
     a. Maternal and child health & Nutrition
     b. Diet related Non Communicable Diseases (NCD)
• To start a degree course in Fashion designing
• Our Geology Department was the first department to be started in Western India
• To have Botanical Garden as well as Arboretum with possibly largest number of plants in any such facility in Universities.
• To start a Library on a large scale, first of its kind in India.
• To starts a traditional Sanskrit learning, like Jyotish, Rituals etc.
• To start a specialization of marketing management and human resource management at undergraduate level (1976) in Faculty of Commerce.
• To have a vocational guidance center offering courses in skills like photography, Sculpture, painting, molding and casting etc. as “kala Bhavan” in 1886 at Faculty of Fine in Arts History and Aesthetics.
