  • Quality Education: At MSU sincere efforts are made to grow in quality of education and Contribute to society in meaningful ways. High priority components of our teaching learning vision includes research with focus on the thought leadership and spearheading the effort in reaching new frontiers of knowledge, global reach and relevance with international alliances and societal orientation through outreach and extension activities.
  • MSU with full of career oriented  educational opportunities :  Average yearly student Intake  during last five years for various degree programs is more than 35,000 Presently there are about 82 Professors, 185 Readers, 480 Lecturers and 431 honorary research members working on the campus. Comprehensive academic range and converge along with vibrant Industry academic Interface is the central strength of our University, Large number of campus interviews and direct recruitment processes conducted by several Indian and International bodies reflects quality of our products.
  • Professional Courses: The university offers a comprehensive range of professional programmes at Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level  through its various faculties such as Technology & Engineering, Science, Social Work, Family & Community Sciences, Management Studies, Law, journalism and Communication, Some of the frontline professional areas demonstrating the wide range are Pharmacy, Archeology, Nano technology, Human Resource Management, Business Administration and Mass communication.

    Post-graduate courses in Bio-informatics, Nanotechnology, Disaster Management, and Petroleum Geology are among those addressing global thrust areas. And have received generous financial support from Government of Gujarat.
  • From Modern to Ancient Studies:
    Oriental Institute and Sanskrit studies: White there are a large number of courses with State of the art educational infrastructure, especially in science and technology, University also gives emphasis  on ancient studies.

    Our oriental Institute has a treasure of rare and old manuscripts and house more than 48,000 books and 28,000 manuscripts.

    Traditional ad contemporary Sanskrit studies are encouraged in the University offering all conventional degree programs. Degree like Shastri, Acharya, Vachaspati in traditional courses like Jyotish, Vedanta, Puranas and number of Diploma/Certificate level courses in Karmakand, Vastushastra, etc. are also offered.

  • Nontraditional  Faculties:   The university has international reputed faculties of  Fine Arts and  Performing Arts. They offer conventional degree programs in Sculpture, Painting, Applied Arts, Art History and Asethetics, Museology, Vocal/ Instrumental Music, Bharat  Natyam/ Kathak Dance, Dramatics.

    Several department at MSU are identified as Centres of Advanced studies or Centres for Excellence. Many have major research supports as COSISTS,DRS,DSA and FIST.

  • Extension Activities:  Faculties  like Social Work, Family & Community Sciences, Performing Arts and  Continuing/Adult Education Centre offer number of outreach programmes and work on number of projects regarding current vibrant issues such as Aids awareness, Nutritional and health status, Adoption, Improvement of Early Child Education and Women’s Studies. It has also cherished the campus diversity I initiative sponsored by Ford Foundation of India.
  • Support Services:  Large  number of support services at MSU includes Central Library, Computer Centre, University Press All India Civil Services Training Centre, Animal House, Auditoria, Botanical Garden and Experimental School, Centre for Continuing Adult Education, Central Workshop, Chetan Balwadi, Employment Bureau, Gymnasium, Indoor Stadium, Language Laboratories Meteorological Center, Museum and Picture Gallery, Observatory, Open Air Theaters, Pavilion, Play box, Population Research Center and Swimming Pool.
  • Encouraging student performances:Our University has a well designed examination system which allows timely declaration of Our University website is now hosting most of the results on the same day when it is declared so students from any corner can check his/ her result.

    More than 200 gold medals are awarded to felicitate front rankers and special achievers during our annual convocation which is a very regular prestigious feature of our University.

  • Academic Reforms :    The list includes creating computer aided instructional environment: procurement of various scientific software and enhancing computer facilities; making inbuilt provision in the curricula to give training and develop entrepreneurial skills; creation of post-doctoral position in specific thrust areas and collaborative research projects with international institutions
  • Students bodies

    Our University conducts regularly University Student elections. There are student’s bodies at the Faculty level also. This gives them a perfect experience of our rich
    democratic heritage. Many past student leaders have reached highest position in the state.

    The Vice-President post in the MSU student union is reserved for girls.

    Many extracurricular activities including variety of educational meets are organized by student bodies.
