Education: Born on 2.12.1948 in the family of Dr. Arvind M. Mehta, a leading Consultant and Physician of Bhavnagar. Did his B. A. with Hons. from Bhavan's College, Bombay in 1971. After obtaining Bachelor's degree in Law from the Faculty of Law, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, in 1974, was offered Government of India Merit Scholarship for pursuing post-graduation in Law. 

Biography: Practised as an Advocate for twenty-six years and associated with Mr. K. C. Patel, a Senior Advocate. Served as Staff Officer, Legal Wing, Gujarat State Home Guards from February 1980 to December 1981. He delivered lectures as Visiting Lecturer on Home Guards Act & Rules, Indian Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code for Officers' Training Course and conducted examination for promotional posts. Attended various seminars as a Guest Speaker and submitted papers from time to time. Elevated to the Bench of Gujarat High Court as Additional Judge on 18.9.2000.
