    He did his Ph.D. from the Columbia University, USA, and a D.Sc. from the University of Arizona in Zoology, after which it was for him a path of many achievements, fellowships, honours and awards both at the national and international level.

Late Professor Vinodkant Chunilal Shah (1929) had held an illustrious track of academic achievements. After securing a postgraduate degree from Baroda he studied in the university of Minnesota to acquire a double master’s degree. He did his Ph.D. from the Columbia University, USA, and a D.Sc. from the University of Arizona in Zoology, after which it was for him a path of many achievements, fellowships, honours and awards both at the national and international level. Before he took charge as vice chancellor of the M S University of Baroda, he held the office of vice chancellor of the Bhavnagar University. He had also held teaching positions as professor and scientist at universities in cities like Boston, Long Island in the USA, at Sydney University in Australia and at the Delhi University, India. To name a few awards given him for his contribution to science: the Hari Om Mota prizes, Fulbright fellowship, US government; fellowship of National Academy of Sciences and of the Indian National Science Academy.
