About Department

Department of Educational Administration:

The Department of Educational Administration was established in the M.S.University of Baroda in 1951 under the able leadership of Prof. S.N.Mukherjee, founder Head & Dean of the Faculty of Education and Psychology. The vision of starting the unique Department was to produce qualified and trained educational administrators at all levels of education.

The Department has been offering Post-graduate Diploma in Educational Management (PGDEM) and Master of Management Studies ( Education) programs and has been conducting research in the area of Educational Management. Recognizing this, UGC had given the Department, a status of DRS in 1994. After successfully completing all the phases of DRS, the UGC has elevated the Department to DSA Programme in the year 2015 for conducting extensive research in the area of Women in Educational Management and Educational Management at all levels. During this phase, the Department has offered short-term training programs to school principals and supervisors, conducted workshops and national seminars, invited international academicians to deliver lectures on important topics in educational management and departments' teachers guided students for Ph.D. in Education. The Department has organized a national level research methodology course for research scholars in the area of social sciences funded by ICSSR, New Delhi. It has organized a National workshop on Educational Management for the University Administrators in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi and Faculty development program on Academic leadership in Higher Education in collaboration with the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The Department has undertaken several research projects funded by various external funding agencies like, Reach to Teach, UK, International Baccalaureate Organization, Stockholm University, etc.
