About Department

The UGC DRS SAP-I Department of Clothing and Textiles of the Faculty of Family and Community Sciences, ever since its inception has through an integration of theoretical and practical instructional methods aimed at equipping the students with necessary proficiencies for a wide variety of careers. The department has over the years undergone changes in curriculum to keep pace with the changing times. This has helped the department to work towards fulfilling its aim of Education for Progress. The department is sensitive to the growing needs of Higher Education for highly qualified professionals. It is thus, striving to meet this challenge by providing professionally trained individuals who display an effective combination of technical know-how, a flair for design and innovation and a clear understanding of various concepts of clothing, fashion and textiles.
