Institute of Leadership and Governance (ILG)

As an integral part of the University the Institute of Leadership and Governance (ILG) was established in 2016, with a focus on training, trans-disciplinary studies and research in different aspects of leadership, good governance structures, practices and processes which, are highly indispensable in the present day.

BThe Institute is a non-partisan and non-sectarian organization open to the different ideas, positions and methods on leadership development and governance in alignment with the vision and mission of the University.

The institute principally integrates knowledge and methods of Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Business Management, Psychology, Organizational Studies and Social Work amongst others making it interdisciplinary in nature and transdisciplinary in learning, providing deeper understading of real life experinces.

This Institute will academically support the country’s efforts to move ahead in the comity of nations as a powerful, peaceful, distinctive and prosperous country. The Institute shall be a non-partisan and non-sectarian organization open to the different ideas, positions and methods on leadership development and governance in alignment with the vision and mission of the University.

Institute of Leadership and Governance academically supports the country?s efforts to move ahead in the comity of nations as a powerful, peaceful, distinctive and prosperous country through its dedicated short, medium and long term programs.

It is built on the core strength of the faculty members of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in these areas, the course content and flexibility of learning environment. ILG has a long standing commitment to social change, diversity and inclusion. The core values of the institute is respecting diversity of ideas, academic freedom, collaboration, doing human good which is essential to chart excellence in all spheres of life.

By excellence we mean focus on achievement and accepting challenges and even failures. It is a motivating force full of internal satisfaction. To achieve excellence in all spheres of life we strongly believe it is important to develop several character-building qualities such as morality and ethics, integrity and honesty, dedication and hard work, kindness and empathy, self-control and patience etc. which has been in abundance in the ancient Indian texts and teachings too that serve as an evidence of our cultural values.

The two specific centres SINDHU (Centre for Indic Studies) and SADBHAAVNA (Centre for Theological studies) under the aegis of the Institute of Leadership and Governance offer short term courses and conduct lectures and events with a focus on teaching and integrating cutting-edge value based education.

The Institute of Leadership and Governance has enabled students to discover their hidden potentials and nurtured young aspirants to be responsible leaders through its several certificate programs and initiatives.
